[Resolved] Random Records

I have a display page, there is a featured section. I have done banners before but not with records just with images. Does anyone have any idea how I would go about this, it would work just like a banner but display different records from the database every time the page was refreshed, in the featured section.

• Run a query to select all of them.

• Then count the rows using mysql_num_rows().

• Then use rand() to generate a random number from 0 to (mysql_num_rows-1)

• Then use mysql_data_seek() to retrieve that particular row out of the result set.

All of the functions are in the PHP manual, so you should be able to figure things out using what I gave you.

  $sql = "SELECT * FROM <table> ORDER BY rand() LIMIT 0,1";
   $query = mysql_query($sql);
   $record = mysql_fetch_asssoc($query);
