ok, not at all php- i know... but this is really starting to bug me now.
i have index.php, which does one of two things...
1) <META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="10;URL=home.php?noflash=true">
is in the <head> tags of the html page.
2) little flash movie on the same page, approximately 1k in size (absolute max).
the flash movie plays for under 2 seconds, then redirects to home.php, and as you see, the meta redirect sends the page to home.php, with a variable appended.
logic being, if you dont download + play the flash movie in ten seconds, you either have a really poor connection, or dont have the flash plugin (easy peasy flash detection).
problem is, it works first time, second time round it gets all carried away, and as soon as you visit index.php, the metaredirect tries to move you on straight away. then the flash movie tries, then the meta, and because they are constantly fighting, it gets in a bit of a loop.....
thoughts / observations / fixes?
