Session Cookies Disabled Problem

Hi,

I have run into a problem as I have built a shopping basket on a site which uses $HTTP_SESSION_VARS variables.

The problem with this is that is a user has cookies fully disabled including session cookies then the basket doesn't work?!? 🙁

How can I use sessions with full cookies disabled?

I know it can be dome with a $_GET session variable but how can I ensure that it is always present to track the order/basket goods?

Any help/advice much apreciated. 🙂

(I have noticed that this board doesn't work with session cookies disabled).

If you set session.use_cookies to 0 and session.use_trans_sid to 1 in php.ini, it should use the transsid, which will appear as file.php?sid=yourbiglongsid ('sid' will be the value of session.name).

In fact, if you leave session.use_cookies turned on, then PHP will use cookies if the the browser is accepting them, and resort to the ?SID= thingy if it isn't. Either way, the session data will be repopulated [url=file:///C:/olde/downloads/php/manual/ref.session.html#session.idpassing]as advertised[/url] when session_start() is called.
