I'm a professional website designer and do a lot of php programming with Dreamweaver MX.

I'm capable of building product pages, product listing pages, and just about everything except shopping cart and checkout pages.

Also not too sure on how to email buyers and SSL etc.

What I'd really like to know is:

1. Once I've done everything I can, would it be fairly simple to learn the code and integrate it easily.

or

Should I hire a web developer who is proficient in php shopping systems rather?

php programming with Dreamweaver MX

isn't programming, IMO.

You'll need to learn a frustrating lot to do what you mean to do here.

I think you should grow by learning, but if time is an issue, I'd hire somebody with a clue.

You can buy a lot of programming for fairly cheap these days.
