Cannot configure Apache for localhost

I have installed PHP, Apache and MySQL as package from

http://www.firepages.com.au/

It will not let me connect to http://localhost/ but will let me connect to http://127.0.0.1/ ?????? I really do need to connect to localhost though.

Anyone know what I need to configure?

The server error I get is a "400: Bad request"

Many people know from their own experience that it's not easy to install an Apache web server and it gets harder if you want to add MySQL, PHP and Perl.

Hmm... don't recall having trouble with anything but MySQL.

Just install each separately, it's much easier than people crack it up to be.

Well, I actually used to use the Firepages package, but then I just gave up because half the time it worked half the time it didn't, and I was having the same issues as jonnyboy. So I just gave up on it.

Ever since I started using xampp my life has been so much easier 🙂

change you OS to linux and the apache work on.

Make sure the

document root

configuration point to existing directories. I ever had the same problem.

I followed the advice on this fine tutorial. I just made sure to download all the software from the software organization's web page. That way I was assured to get the latest versions:
