installing mysql as nt service

I am trying to setup mysql and I'm having trouble installing it as a service.

I am getting this error after trying
mysqld -nt -install

mysqld: Can't read dir of '=install\' (Errcode: 2)

I don't get any errors if I just do --install, this does ad mysql to the services list but I'm unable to start it. I had actually tried this originally before reading down to installing it as a service and it saying to type -nt -install.

Robert, I have't used MySQL on Windows in a few years, so I'm not familiar with your error code. I don't know if this will help you any, but there might be some tweaking you need to do according to this article:

I thought that -nt was an argument because all the documents I had seen prior to that link (the mysql manual didn't say anything about mysql-nt at all)

I don't have a cnf file in my folders. Maybe that's the problem??
btw, I have 4.0.2

I had the wrong hd selected in my ini.
