Creating the graphics end of a PHP template....

I know how to do graphics part of web design but one thing I can't seem to find at all is what program to use or how exactly to slice the graphics or apply it to make a template. Any suggestions on what exactly to use to create the graphic part of a PHP template?😕 😕 😕 😕

This isn't a PHP thing. If you are looking to figure out how to slice images, refer to the documentation with the graphics program you are using. I personally use Adobe Photoshop to generate my graphics.

So do I. Infact I use Photoshop CS but the problem is that I don't know how to associate the graphics with PHP to make the visual part of the template work. Is there a program that associates the images with certain parts of the code so that it's arranged correctly or is that usually done manually? That's the part that no one seems to either be willing or able to answer thus far. I hope you can help me with that 'cause I'm rather good with graphics and do know how to slice images but I what I don't know is how to associate the images with the code so that they are arranged the way they were sliced so that it looks right. Please help.
Now, I'm not asking for anyone to do that for me. Not at all. I'm just missing that one single piece of knowledge to be able to slap it all together.

As far as associating it with PHP, it's the same as doing it with HTML. I don't know if it is that no one wants to help, or that noone really knows what you need help with.

If you need help with figuring out how to slice the images, try posting your question at the http://www.adobexchange.com forums.

If you need help with arranging your slices, that's really more of an HTML question using Tables and Image tags. Once you have your layout, you basically just wrap the content around it using your PHP and MySQL (or whatever DB you choose).

I guess I really don't fully understand what you need help with, other than to say it doesn't sound like PHP coding, since you are asking about slicing graphics up.

Basically what I do with image based HTML layout is use ImageReady CS for the basic layout and HTML structure. Then I use DeamweaverMX 2004 for the tweaking. What I don't know is how to use those tools to make it a PHP template. Do I just save it as a PHP template or what? I noticed that when I look at templates they are specifically designed for PHPnuke or something like that. That's the part I don't get. I would like to make templates for scripts like PHP Nuke ,phpBB2 ,and the like but as far as I knew PHP was basically a universal language. So I guess my problem is a multi parter 😛
Basically, with the tools I have, your saying that I just make it like a normal HTML template, with the slices and everything but I just save it through DW MX as a PHP template? Or is there more to it.
