New and improved shoutbox please critique

The included file is an updated shoutbox.php that I was working on. I took the suggestions of LordShryku and Shrike and attempted to make this script better. If there are any other suggestions of how to make this better or if you find logic errors or something then please let me know. btw thanks for all of the helpful pointers guys, I really learned alot and it was a lot of fun!!

🙂 Treasure trove of info - i guess i am going to be spending this weekend picking the code apart and seeing if i can understand some of the more complicated (to me) parts. i can already see that several of these functions are going to come in extremely handy on my next project(s), i really appreciate you taking the time to do this drawmack - just want to say that this board and the people here are great. i can't wait until i am able to help someone else out down the road so i can also contribute.

no problem. There is some more that can be done as well for flexibility. You could make the color codes in the css be variables so you can change them more easily. You could add a function to create the table if it does not exist or restructure the table if it does but is incorrect.
