i am having problem to execute the linux command in php.

i'm working on a portal that can submit a job through sun grid engine. To submit job using sge (sun grid engine) the command is
qsub -cwd script.sh

php can't execute this but i did success to execute other linux command in php like this:
autogrid3 -p input.gpf -l output.glg

anyone have any idea about this?

Could it be a permissions issue? Remember when run through the browser (if you're using apache) php will be running as the "nobody" user so command line executions will be made by this user.
You can check the permissions on qsub like so
ls -l $(which qsub)
or prehapse there is a permissions issue with script.sh

thanks for your helps....but i am a new user, i just started to learn php. yup, i am using apache, i already check, qsub is own by root. i did think of the permission issue before, i change mode for all the files and script that are required to run my job.
have you heard of autodock before?we have a grid here with sge installed, i am trying to make a web based portal to allow user submit their job to our grid. but now the problem is i cant execute qsub in php. actually the content of the script.sh is the command line to run the qutodock job.
if u have any idea, please let me know ok.

In your .sh file put as much debuging code as you can and in the php file, where you want to execute the command use this

shell_exec('qsub -cwd script.sh 1>stdout 2>stderr');

This will send all errors from running this command to a file called stderr and all standard output to a file called stdout.

hello

i have tried this

shell_exec('qsub -cwd script.sh 1>stdout 2>stderr');

but there is no stderr or stdout files generate. how??
