detecting a clients privacy settings

Hello,

Is there a quick way in PHP to detect what the clients privacy settings are set to.

I need to provide specific content in a project if they are set to 'OFF' but not if they are set to "HIGH'.

I could write a script to set a cookie then check to see if it was created but I dont use cookies a great deal and dont want to chance getting a false positive so to speak.

which client? i don't believe there are any standards for browser privacy settings. someone please correct me here if i'm wrong.

IE6 is the one I am having issues with.

I don't think you can. I think that would potentially create security risks... Think about it like this: If I could detect your privacy settings, what would keep me from running malicious scripts if I knew your privacy settings were low enough...

IE may allow you to though, but I think that would be an exploit more than a feature, so if you figure it out, you may want to let the developers in Redmond know you found it...
