Multiple Lines of Text in Single Cell

Hello,

I am creating a .csv file using PHP.

In few columns I want to display multiple line of text in a single cell, in Excel that is done using ALT+ENTER keys.

Can anyone please let me know how to do this using PHP?

just dont close the <TD> tag until you have all your text in it....?

not exactly sure what more you could be looking for there...

OK, I tried using HTML tags, but it will display the text on new line not in one cell, that is not what I want.

I want the text should be displayed in single cell with new sentence beginning on new line.

If you know Excel you will see that to display multiple lines of text you use ALT+ENTER so that more text can be added in one cell with proper formatting.

something like this then...

<table border=1>
<tr>
<td>one</td>
<td>two<br>three<br>four</td>
</tr>
</table>

would be done by using nl2br() on the text to convert the Newline characters to <br> tags
