sending IM with PHP

Hi:
I was just wondering if it was ever possible to send text IMs with PHP to IM Network/Clients such as AIM, ICQ(I think thats possible), MSN, and Yahoo?
I mean, if it is possible with ICQ, it must be "possible" with the rest, Im pretty sure it wont be a pure php solution, but anything from ideas to complete solutions will be very helpful!

here is the documentation on the oscar protocol which aim uses. icq and aim now run on the same protocol so you should be able to msg icq users since you can msg icq users thru aim already.
