How to delete some text from a string?

Hello. Here's what I have. I have the following text thats in code, within one string. What would be the easiest way to delete the following parts from the string? Keep in mind that the "Hello x" is dynamic, anything could be in there.

<td valign=top>Hello x</td>

<table>
<tr><td valign=top>1.</td><td valign=top>Hello 1</td><td><b>Testing Line 1</b>
<br><br></td></tr>
<tr><td valign=top>2.</td><td valign=top>Hello 2</td><td><b>Testing Line 2</b>
<br><br></td></tr>
<tr><td valign=top>3.</td><td valign=top>Hello 3</td><td><b>Testing Line 3</b>
<br><br></td></tr>
<tr><td valign=top>4.</td><td valign=top>Hello 4</td><td><b>Testing Line 4</b>

I'm not sure what your asking, but I personally wouldn't keep all that within one string if you are looking to manipulate an element of it.

I know its not very clean sticking all that text in one string to manipulate, but I just would like to know if there was a way to do it. 😃

Also, divinemke, thanks for the quick reply, but I don't think I explained myself as clearly as I could have.

Do you know if there would be any way to just delete the <td valign=top>Hello x</td> from the string leaving only <tr><td valign=top>1.</td><td><b>Testing Line 1</b><br><br></td></tr>.

Assuming the 'Hello x' could be a wildcard statement -- anything could be there, which wouldn't allow me to use a specific number or character.
