Good news - after some hassle its up and running smoothish.
Had to ensure all my tables that I want to edit / update etc.. where within the main database - even though you can specify other databases and see data from them.
Also, the primary key issue caused problems - the primary key doesn't show up and as such isn't easily editable. So I patched this by adding a the same field twice highlighting one as the primary key. Then had to modify the code so that when I edit a field it updates it and not deletes it!
Shame the developement on this project seems to be over as its a great app - and has lots of potential for expanding to become an extremely powerful and drilled down data editing suite.
