MySQL web front ends

I'm looking for a customisable web front end for mysql, for users to add / edit data in selected tables or fields.

Anybody know of any, I have tried phpfriendly admin - but it seems to error when trying to edit data.

Anyone recommend anyothers ?

Try PHPMyAdmin. I use it on my home machine, and my web host uses it. I rarely (and I mean rarely) have any problems with it, and when I do, it is usually of my own doing anyhow 😉.

Thanks for your response - I have phpmyAdmin also - but its a bit complex for basic users...

Sorry you find it to be too complex. When I first started with PHP (as a basic user), that was what I used, and yes it seemed a bit complex, but the learning curve is short, and once you spend a couple of hours with it, you are basically a pro... At least that was my experience from the start.

sorry, I wasn't clear, your right defender it is a good app and I find it perfectly accessable - in fact its very good! and will be using it or mySQL Control Center to administer the databases.

Unfortunately, I don't trust the other users not mess things up!! :eek: as they aren't from a DBA background. Also I don't want to give them access to all the databases - just some of tables!

I feeling I might just have to build the web forms for adding / editting data, but I was hoping there was a reliable / configurable opensource web application out there... 😕

Ah, my bad. I didn't realize you meant something everyone can access... Definitely don't want to give that kind of access to end-users.

In that case, HotScripts.com may have something you will find useful. I have stuff in my code library, but it is very proprietary with the stuff I am doing with my company, so you'd be just as well off either building your own, or finding one there.

I have found: www.dadabik.org but it doesn't seem as polished as phpmyfriendly admin - but it does work! ;-)

Yeah, like I said earlier, you might well be better off doing it yourself...
