Football table problem

Hi
I have a database with all the league details for the english football league one. One my homepage for my website, i am trying to make a script to show a certain team, then the 2 teams above and the 2 teams below them in the league. I cannot think how to do this.

Sorry if you can't understand this i cant think of a good way to explain it.

Well, if you make up a way to calculate the points of each team, and then manage to create the table with their actual positions, does this sound too general?
Just calculate the wins (3 points) and the draws (1 point), add all those up, and then see if one has more games than others and the goals for and against.
Your question is in a way vague, maybe start off doing what you can and then ask more specific questions...

If you have all the teams in the table as below:

Hudd Town
Man U
Barnsley
Shef Unt
Shef Wed
Liverpool
Leeds

Say you had shef unt selected then to make the table above you would have had to create and array, yes? So you could do:

$id=4;

print "$array[$id]";

$id-2;

print $array[$id];

etc....

Is this possible?
