Why can't you access the compiler?
This is a live "critical" system, installing a compiler to compile source code isn't really welcomed by those in charge ! If it it wuz up to me I would defiantely install it (after all what would I be doing with a UNIX box without a compiler).Currently I would like to update the webserver (Apache) but I can't because...you guesed it I have no compiler so will have to use what there already...by the way is there a way for me to determine what version of Apache I'm currently using on this Sun Box ? I would also like to download MySQL in source format but obviously that won't work for my situation so I'm going with the binary available at the MySQL website !
I'm tried download Apache,MySQL and PHP for Windows but I kept on get an install error whenever I tried to install Apache so I haven't bothered to try install PHP or MySQL on the Windows machine.
You maybe curious to what I intend to do with all this (well you probably figuer it out already). I have some web development to do and I figuered that this would be the best way to go (I'm also learning all about Apache MySQL and PHP as I go along)......but thus far it has been an headache....I won't give up though (well not yet at least) ....thanx for your help.
