server has the wrong timezone for autodate!

Hi,

I have a mySQL table with an autodate field,
but unfortunatly the server is in Germany and I am in the UK,
so the time is always entered one hour ahead.

I have phoned the web host, and they say that the time can be localised using a php script.

Does anyone know how I may achieve this?
