Gd install on windows

Hello,

I'm an extremely new to PHP.

I have been trying to GD library on a existing PHP 4.3 which is on WINDOWS IIS

to put it short i just cant get it installed ..I have the php_gd.dll in c:\winnt and edited the php.ini file.ie extension=php_gd.dll
restarted IIS

i get this alert----
PHP Warning: Unknown(): Unable to load dynamic library './php_gd.dll' - The specified procedure could not be found.

Can someone help plz ?

Is it php < 4.3.7 ? If so I would recommend upgrading to the latest, as you can use the GD2 instead - inagecreatetruecolor is preferred and gives better images.

Check that your extension dir is set correctly in the php.ini and points to /path/to/php/dlls as well.

It doesn't have to be in the winnt dir for it to work...

Just seen you have 4.3.7.... GD was dropped in favour of GD2 (4.3.2)... so you'll have to make sure that you are referring to GD2.dll file...

got it going...guess that php_GD2.dll is required not GD..
installer just forgets about the extensions dir..
