PHP to PHP or HTML to PHP

Hey all

i have a 'news poster' that you can access the news from a news.php file, its VERY plain and all news.php contains is the plain text from that news posting, i have a main page in php and i was wondering how i would go about putting whatever data is on that news.php page onto my main php page

i know if you want stuff from an html you can echo(FRead()) or whatnot, that may not even be the best way to get html onto a php page

anyways im new to this, so any help on getting the data from the php page to my other php page

i want to have it like this

< IMPORT NEWS SECTION>

REMAINDER OF CRAP ON SITE

when i add that the page loads blank, not even my old stuff was loading

it looks like this

echo @fread(fopen("sample.htm", "r"), 100000);
include("grcounter.php");
include "\news\news.php";

from the http root its /layout/news/news.php that i need to get to

the php im calling it from is in /layout/

EDIT: had a typo, i can load it when using the entire link like http://whatever.whatever but i cant do it locally, probably putting it in wrong
