[Resolved] subtract 1 from a variable for one instance

i want to use the value of a variable minus 1 without changing the value of the variable. can this be done without creating a new variable?

should work... if not... ($var-1) should I believe... (to force the operation before committing it to HTML

thanks, first thing would have worked, if id uploaded the right file 🙂
plus can't seem to set mozilla to download the website every time instead of going of cache that ive set to 0kb
