help developing an inner site search engine

Greetings,

I need your oppinion to help me about a feature I must develop using PHP. On the website I'm developing I need to implement a "search this site" system, i.e, an inner site search engine. I need to be able to search contents stored on databases and also contents stored on the HTML files (static content). What is the best way to implement a system like this (search engine against database and HTML files)? All tips are accepted 🙂

A nifty little SQL trick called "LIKE": "SELECT * FROM table WHERE field LIKE '%".$search_text."%' ORDER BY date DESC"
