PHP Extensive Tutorial

Anybody knows a good extensive php tutorial including the technique of coding i.e. how to arrange code, naming convention, html inclusion best practice

A book is ok too.

i personally really liked php for the world wide web by larry ullman and then the advanced version of it. it is really easy to understand and pretty much walked me through the most often used tasks within 2 days. www.phphelp.com used to have a few interesting articles/tutorials for beginners as well. www.hotscripts.com has a tutorials section and finally there are always p2p programs to look for pdf books.
not knowing the php versions of o'reilly or wrox, generally both series' are outstanding - also for beginners (i personally prefer o'reilly).

It is a wonderful tutorial.

jam*wil, beware, this is an old tutorial that assumes Register Globals is on... Not only is it not safe coding, but it also misleads newbies a lot. I would say at least twice a week, a newbie comes on these boards, referring to that tutorial, asking why the POST or GET doesn't work... I am sure you know better, but if you ever recommend that tut to a newb, you may want to find a different tut (one more up-to-date) to refer them to.

Other than that, I believe it's a decent tutorial. You can tell a lot of htought and effort went into it way back when it was written.

Books and tutorials are great however books arent really required in PHP its quite an easy language to learn to master it takes a lot more effort i dont believe anyone has yet mastered it.

But the only real reference is the PHP Manual http://php.net/manual/en you can download a copy of it to have offline.
