[Resolved] MySQL Primary Key

Hello

I have an INSERT form that works ok. All the registers including the primary key work well.

After you click Submit form, it takes you to a page where you can see all the data that you already insert.

What I don´t understand is why the primary key is the only register that doesn´t appear listed in this page.

I have checked the database and actually there is a Primary Key automatically set up for that register everytime I submit data.

If I call this register in another page then it appears, but not exactly after submitting the form.

Any ideas why this could happen?

i don't know what exactly you mean with "register"

would you mind posting some code?

since it is an auto_increment value mysql will use autogenerate the number after the insert. if you want to see the id number created for the last insert you can use
$id = mysql_insert_id();
after your query. using that in combination with all your other code to show the data they entered to register should get you all you need

sorry, maybe I didn´t use the right terms...

Lets say that you fill a form and when you submit it, all that info is inserted in a database and the primary key automatically is set up with an autoincrement number.

After you submit it it takes you to a page where you can see all the data you alredy typed except tha primary ket that was automatically created by mysql table.

I don´t know why the primary key (ID) doesn´t show.

Any ideas?

2nd time i answer it in this post...

$id = mysql_insert_id();

do that right after the query and it will give you the primary key value.

$id = mysql_insert_id();

and works ok.
