If you didnt know there is a vunerability found in Mozilla, Firefox and Thunderbird Programs on the Windows OS

I haven't tested this thoroughly, but setting up a custom preference
network.protocol-handler.external.shell
and giving it a boolean value of false appears to turn off recognition of the shell: scheme completely.
