mail function in windows?

Hi,

I have been trying to get the mail function to work in windows without much success.

I know that I should set the SMTP value to something like mail.desirethis.com

Unfortunately, I can't do this since I have a local webserver. The router that I am using does not have loop back so it can't access a local domain.

I have tried setting the SMTP value to 127.0.0.1; however, this is not working either...

[mail function]
; For Win32 only.
SMTP = 127.0.0.1

; For Win32 only.
sendmail_from = [e-mail]

If anyone can help I would appreciate it!

in order to use smtp on localhost.. you should have SMTP server running on your system

I am running a smtp server. My problem is that I don't know how to configure php.ini when using a nonloopback router.
