get worded ip?

I'm trying to get the worded ip but I only get the numeric ip's.

I've tried REMOTE_ADDR, HTTP_CLIENT_IP,$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] and all I ever get is numbers.

how in php do you convert numbers to a text such as
adsl-1.12.2.23.sbc.com from 1.12.2.23

dont really care if it gets all ip's I just wanted to compair
the worded for a test project I've been working on
