The interview went well, thank you. I'm not sure the pay will be where I want, but we did talk salary, and they seemed concerned that the job is in line with what I want to do in my career (there is probably less than 25% development work). There are a number of things I want to do in my life, and although programming is very much fun (and something I will continue to do at least on the side), I also want to teach, write, and get into management roles. This job is a good transition into those areas, and I told them as much. Now I am just waiting for the beauracratic methodologies to work through their processes, and await their answer.
The good thing is that the person I talked to, my "in" at the company, is the VP in charge of the department I would be working in, and the last person with whom I interviewed. So, I have high hopes.
I will let you know immediately and quite loudly when I get the word.
Thanks!
