Hey there, I am setting up a tracking system to see who is viewing certain sites. I wondering if there is a way to track the first three octaves of an IP address. From what i understand, these are owned by someone. So if someone from a comcast server visits my site, I can track this by translating this from the ip address. Is there a way to do this in PHP. If so, where can I get more info on this. This isn't considered bad practice, is it? I mean I am not recording any personal info, just the general ip owner. Let me know, thanks.
