Global Variables

I want to be able to have variables carry throughout four or five pages.

For example,
Page:1
Birthdate is selected into three variables via a drop box. (ie. 04/25/1999)
so $month $day $year (ie 04 25 1999)

PAge 2:
$birthdate=$month.$day.$year;
$slashes = $month . "/" . $day . "/" . $year; (ie 04/25/1999)

This is the edit page, where the user can change entered data.
$slashes appears in a text box for editing. If the user is happy with that entry we proceed to the display page, where the birthdate ($slashes)should appear. Howevery it is showing up blank.

Any ideas?

I would recommend using either GET or SESSION. To pass variables via GET, you simply say something like:

<?php
echo "<a href=\"page.php?month=$month&day=$day&year=$year\">Clicky</a>";
?>

Then to access them on page.php you'd use $_GET['month']. For sessions, read this.
