email images as attachments w/ hotmail

after sending my emails out, when i get them at Hotmail, the images display fine, but are also "attached" to the email. meaning it shows the user all the images as attachments as well.

anyone else get this?

are u talking abt general mails on hotmail or abt the mails u send via PHP?

oh, sorry...no i mean from the mails i send using PHP.

it just looks strange, you see the message and a little attachment logo next to it. (which to me looks like "hey, i've attached a virus!)

then when you open it, the images are all at the top as attachments, however, in the message they display properly.

they're all absolute urls ie
<img src="http://www.mysite.com/image.gif" border="0">

etc.

oh jeeezus...
this is when i consider either digging a hole in the ground and keeping my head there or just simply changing my name and identity completely.

i wasn't actually using absolute calls in my <img> tags!

they need a little smilie that is smacking himself in the head!

good that ur prob is solved...but know what! i want to send images as attachment... and not embedded in the message... maybe if u let me on ur code...my prob wud get solved. Thanx for the help.

hmm,
what i did was keep my <img> calls relative ie
<img src="images/image.jpg">

this caused hotmail to keep them as attachments as well as display them.

using absolute calls ie
<img src="http://www.mysite.com/images/image.jpg">
caused no attachments and all to be fine for me.

i don't think this really would help you achieve what you want though!
and sorry i don't know how to help.

wouldn't you just send your images as attachments like any other attachment and not include them in your HTML email??
