Excel and PHP

Well,
I want to export some data to a excel spreadsheet using PHP.
Problem is that, my server is Linux is there any way to do that even if the server is Linux.

Your help will be much appriciated 🙂

You could write a file as a *.csv (comma separated value) and then open that file in Excel...

Otherwise, someone here once said you could generate a table, and save the file with a .xls extension, and it would work... I have never tried that, because I generally write .csv files and manipulate them in Excel... (Nothing automated or anything) and *.csv files work for my needs just fine.

since version 5.0 excel has been able to read and write html so you can make an html table with the .xls extension and it works just fine.
