please help with GD

Hello,

This is my first time using GD and frankly i dunno anything about it.

i got this error from my browser: The image “http://localhost/gdtest/gdtest.php” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

i copied this tutorial code and it should work

GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.23 compatible)
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
GIF Read Support enabled
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled

ideas? thanks! i tried googling Troubleshooting GD and such but I couldnt find any help...

Those comments are in a pretty bad position. I'd recommend putting them after the line:
line; // comment goes here
It makes it a little more confusing to do
/ comment / line;

But, to find out what your errors may be, comment out the header() line that sends Content-type.

yea i dunno about the position of the comments. i just copy pasted the code to test my GD installation :p
