I am atempting to get my online user count by counting the files in my session save path. The problem is that these files do not delete after the set 3 minutes. They just stay in the directory. So my online user count just keeps getting higher and higher.
I am using Windows Server 2003. The Internet Guest User Account has full control of the directory. (It makes the files fine!)

Why dont you store logged sessions in a database. That way after a set time they can be deleted giving accurate results.
Something like this for the database should be good.
sessions sessionid|firstactive|lastactive

I have actually solved this problem already!
Problem was that my gc_divisor was set to 1000! Also my gc_probability was a bit low even if the divisor was correctly set at a hundred.
