php mail on Windows

Hi,

Have a problem with mail() on Windows NT.

If the email address is of the format a.b@c.d.e.f mail() doesn't send it.

For all other email addresses of the format a.b@c.d.e or a.b@c.d it works just fine.

The a.b@c.d.e.f works fine from Outlook etc so the address is OK.

Anyone have any idea why this one address won't work from within PHP? I'm baffled and can't find anything relevant on the Internet.

Recent up-to-date versions of PHP and Apache, running on NT.

lol, you got the weridest email address out.

If i were to take a (******REALLY WILD*****) guess then I think its probably the amount of fullstops (.) you got in it.

Try an even larger address (a.b@c.d.e.f.g.h.i.j.k.l.m.n.o.p) with more dots in it and see if that mail still works after that.

If it works after that then try the same amount of fullstops, just with different letters.

I was wondering about the number of dots but can't find any evidence.

It's just one clients addresses are all @c.d.e.f style, and it's them that ain't going anywhere - all others are fine.

Anyone got any proof of this, or any workarounds???

The onjly other guess is to try and find an alternate function to e-mail to that address. Doesn't HTML have any sort of mail function that you could use instead of PHP?
