[Resolved] Where do you get the GD Library?

I installed PhP 4.3.4 on my XP system. All seems well. Have written several scripts.

Now I want to do Thumbnails. imagecreatetruecolor needs the GD Library installed. Is this part of PhP? If now where do I get it?

PhPInfo() does not say anything about it. I get the following error running var_dump(gd_info());

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: gd_info() in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\kinders\PhPInfoTest.php on line 11

the GD library is something you have to download and install on your system, it is not part of php. Think of it like using mysql to do databases, you have to install GD to do images.

php_gd2.dll comes bundled with PHP now. So just enable it in php.ini.

The extensions don't install from the executable installer for Windows. You need to download the *.zip installer file from php.net, and extract the extensions to whatever directory you have set in the php.ini for the extensions directory... Lastly, look for the line:

;php_gd2.dll

in the php.ini file, and remove the semi-colon. To play it safe, restart your IIS, and you should be good to go.
