Well, it turns out I am the newbie of the newbies in PHP.
no seriously, my questions would be of the type "how do you type on the keyboard?" Well obviously, if you can read this message, then I past this part successfully...
Well actually those are going to be the type of questionsI will be asking relating to PHP/MySQL. So get ready to hate me...
I guess I've already introduced myself somewhere else a few weeks ago, but haven't posted any since then due to the fact I've been hunting for programmers to program my site.. Well it turns out they all backed out on me, for various reasons... Hey what do you expect? I'm a cheap guy hehe
Well I guess it turned out for the best, since I decided to code it myself. It'll take a little longer, but o well...
Anyways, enough ranting. I will be using this thread only to put all my questions in, so I have a 1 place to look at the history, and the evovlment of my crisis 😛 So moderators, beware!!!! I will be bumping this thread on a regular basis. Don't you hate me already?
well ok ok... really!!! enough ranting.. but seriously the more I... HEY AJ!!! enough ranting!!
OK here is the deal:
As some of you might know, I am doing a project so people can find a good host. It will be a database driven site (duh). So basically, people will signup a form to add their host to the database. The form will have many fields such as their name, their DC location (if they are a reseller, then the location of their host's DC), etc... the location of that page would be found at http://www.fagh.com/a_addyourhost.html. Yes I know it is only the form, but will add the menu/header later.
And of course when they signup, they have to be approved by a staff member.
OK let's end the story of the site here, and as we (I say WE) go along, I will add more to it.
So what I need now is to create a database in phpMyAdmin. (and it turns out that I just found out how to do it last night). So basically I need to know what fields I should put in our first table, called 'host' (changeable)
And most importantly, the different value each field should have (like int(10) or those kinda things... primary, secondary... ahh all confusing)
Well I guess that ends our first post here..
hmm... well I guess you had the courage to read to the end of this rambling thing.... (impressed)
Anyways, thanks for any future help... 😉
cheers
