Hello,
we have a rather old installation of php-4.0.1pl2, openldap 1.2.11 and apache 1.2.16 with php-based Ldapexplorer (ht_tp://igloo.its.unimelb.edu.au/LDAPExplorer/) 1.13 running on a solaris 8 machine.
I wanted to upgrade to a more recent php, apache and ldap-version and started messing around with openldap 2.1.30, php-4.2.2 and apache-1.3.26. I compiled the stuff successfully but ldapexplorer could never connect to the ldap-server. (phpldapadmin worked fine though). I tried several other versions of php > 4.0.1pl2 but to no avail. ldapexplorer would never contact the openldap 2-server.
Seems to me the ldap functions have changed somewhere between php-4.0.1 and 4.2.2. Is there any chance i can convince ldapexplorer to connect to the more recent openldap-server? Any code changes necessary? Or do i have to compile php in some other way, like compatible to earlier versions?
BTW, i could not get php-4.0.1pl2, openldap 2.1.30 and apache-1.3.26 to work together. The resulting libphp4.so had no ldap functionality in it although i configured it that way.
Thanks,
Tim
