I used to be on ICQ and I forgot my number and password. But I could swear ICQ and AIM are running on the same network using almost the same protocol (TIC/TOC). I remember being able to use an AIM client to log into ICQ by entering your ICQ number as your screen name and the password and it would log you in. Then you'd only be able to talk to ICQ people. If this is still the case (I'd recommend testing this if its still true), you might find it easier to look for some PHP AIM code instead.
