In my site i have a page that has a big textarea. PHP loads a text file into the text area.
Below the text area is the "submit" button. When it is pressed, it writes what's in the textarea back to the file.

The problem is, when it writes back to the text file, it puts "\"s in front of every quote and apostraphe. How can I prevent this from happening?

use [man]stripslashes[/man] when outputting the data.

My problem's a bit more complicated. I tried the stripslashes() but sometimes when i put code into the box it messes the whole thing up. I just don't want it to automatically put in slashes. I want it to leave my code alone. Is there a way to override this auto-slash-inserting?

You probably have magic_quotes_gpc on

So try this function
