running processes under windows

I'm searching for an easy way to check if a process is running on my windows machine from php. In Linux I did it with the ps command...

Any ideas?

you need to get ps for win32 or process.exe

they don't come bundled with the standard windows pacakges.

you would use process -kill pid

to kill it with process.exe
