include a file

i need to do some error checking and if it fails, normally i would do include 'form.php';

but my page is page.php?item=1 how can i do this sort of thing ?

cos atm its going there is no file called page.php?xx=xx

not sure i undertstand you. you need to conditionaly include a file? if so:

if (condition is true)
{
include('form.php');
}
else
{
// don't include()...and perhaps echo an error?
}

you cannot pass a variable on the URL when using include(). you can however simply do this:

$item = 1;
include('details.php');

...and the variable $item will be available in details.php.
