Paypal IPN and passwords

hey there,

ive got this script working great, it adds all the info in to the paypal info table and then adds the user to the users table.

BUT!!

The password created by paypal is not the same
in the database as to the password in the paypal account. Say the password was yourin in the database it

looks like fsdf65687gf8g7 which is md5 i think!?

this being the case, when i try to login in it
comes up with the you need to register first
text. So how do i get around this one??

This is more appropriate in the Coding or General forum. However i couldnt see how you are sending the variables over to PayPal firstly to verify the integrity and secondly the form that you send over first.

Are you sending the password over to PayPal or getting PayPal to create one?

If I remember correctly, you specify the password yourself when you sign up. Paypal then expects you to enter the plaintext password which is encrypted for transmission via SSL. If you are also encrypting the password when you save it in your database as your post suggests then it will not match. Just save it as plain text and send it as such, SSL will take care of security during transmission.
