question about Smarty

For anyone out there who uses Smarty, please explain it to me. Is it something that I install, or is it something that the sysadmin has to install? Or could it be either? Does it simplify everything or make it more convoluted.

I always thought that it was like a class and you included a file on each page and that did the work for you...

Okay, that makes since. I run into things that sound really neat, that I want to try, until I find out that they have to be loaded by the SA and as I've stated on this forum, my SA won't install anything for me unless it's requested by one of their paying customers. You gets what you pay for 😉

As far as I remember it is indeed a separate class. Justa file added and the sys admin does not need to install any extra modules.

Personally I found it too complex for my needs and I opted for fasttemplate template engine. Simplest one I found and works a treat for my applications. Fast and simple. What more would you want?
