[Resolved] downloading tar.gz files

I want to download phpemaillist, but all I have is WinZip version 6.3 SR1. What do I need to be able to untar (or whatever it's called) this file?

Take a look at winrar... I think that allows .tar.gz

Why not just upgrade your winzip to a newer version? WinZip has been able to open gzipped tarballs for a couple years now.

I just upgraded and on the first try, couldn't get it to work. I might be doing something wrong if the process is different from unzipping a zip file. Anyway, with zip files, all the files show up in the extration window and you just hit extract. With this, the tar.gz file is all that shows up in the extraction window, so hitting extact doesn't do anything. I'll need to look into it further.

The link that piersk sent gave me a "Page cannot be display" error, so either the site is down or the URL wasn't quite right.

Okay, I got it. I had to save it the my hard drive first. I couldn't just open it.
