Cookies not being set

hi im runing an apache server on windows xp pro
and im having problems with cookies
when i use the setcookie() function the cookies are not being set
i kno its not a problem with the code because is works on other machines, and the browser accepts cookies from sites on the internet. can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to fix it plz

Well there could be many things the browser blocking the cookie, the cookie not being set correctly, without code and more information its not easy to really have a guess at what could be the problem.
