in my page i have the vars $page, and $index.

how can i make a link that uses the variable that are already set?
this is how it should work:
<a href="?page=$page&index=$index>word</a>

Not too sure what you mean, if I am passing variables in a URL, I would do this:

<?php
$page = john;
$index = 3;
$myUrl = "http://blabla.com/whatever.php?page=$page&index=$index";

echo "<a href=\"$myUrl\">CLICK ME!</a>";
?>

It could be shorter, but for the sake of understanding

I don' t see any javascript in there. Could you put more of your code? If what you have above is just that, then you could just use your php tag inside of it.

Do you have a test page online? Because I don't really know what to assume since I don't know what you want to achieve. What I can say is that as long as it is not between <script> </script> , you can use PHP.
