[Resolved] Server Problem?

OK...
This has been driving me crazy...

On a few occasions, php pages that have always worked, just seem to fall apart...

I always put a little...

 
or die("Bad Query");

after every mysql_query statement...

A page with a simple...

mysql_query("Select * From table");

will kick back the "Bad Query"...

After spending hours pulling my hair out and finding nothing wrong with the code, it will all of a sudden start working again...

The only thing that I can think of is that this might be a server issue...
I am new to PHP and coding in general...
Is this a possibility...?

It could be a number of reasons. Is it only the database that is being affected? if so it maybe because it went down or there is a heavy load when your query is being processed.

If the server is down you should probably do some error checking on the mysql_connect and mysql_select_db to check if a connection was initialized also adding something like mysql_error() on the or die or if the "or die" gets triggered to send it via Mail to yourself to see the problem.

mysql_connect
line...

As for the first question...
My site comes up fine, it's just when the pages have to access the DB...

So yes, I think it is just the DB that is affected...

Is this something I should take up with my host...?

Well firstly id double check in th mysql_connect() you have the correct username, password host details if so then contact your host about this problem. Im sure it must seem to get annoying if it keeps happening id recommend getting a new host if they dont fix it or it continues.

I haven't changed the code for the mysql_connect since I started building the site...

It's definitly good...
