How can I create a .htaccess file? My problem: I tried several text editors, but they all added an extention so instead of a file named .htaccess I only could make a file with the name .htaccess.txt or htaccess.html depending on the editor I use. Renaming the file afterwards also did not work. So is there a free editor that I can use to create/edit an htaccess file?
