Populate a textbox using a select box

Hi Everyone,

I am sure someone has asked the same question, but I am in desparate need of some help and I couldnt find what I was looking for.

How would I automatically populate a textbox/texfield by selecting an option in a Select dropdown menu ?

I'd appreciate any help that I can get!

its not php, rather javascript. but here is a small snippet i just made that you should be able to modify to do what you want.

<select name="stuff" onchange="document.forms.form1.textbox.value=this.value">
  <option value=""> -- SELECT OPTION -- </option>
  <option value="val1">dropdown 1</option>
  <option value="val2">dropdown 2</option>
  <option value="val3">dropdown 3</option>
  <option value="val4">dropdown 4</option>
</select>

<input type="text" name="textbox">

</form>
